Good things don't always happen overnight.
Sometimes they’re a result of a lifetime spent doing what we love. And so it is with Recipe Runway,
a company born out of Founder Lori Hastings' passion for food and recipe collecting. Lori believes
that a great recipe, paired with the right ambiance, is the
to all of life’s special and remembered moments.
As a graduate of a culinary school in Seattle, Washington with continued education
through the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) Lori knows a few things about cooking.
But it’s
that has kept her interest through time. Always on the hunt for that elusive, perfect recipe,
Lori has traveled near and far to add to her collection. From chefs in Europe, to her mother
or the local church ladies, from bookstores and libraries, from the internet, product packages
and cooking shows, Lori has clipped, collected and of course personalized her cherished recipes.
Eventually, with 1500 cookbooks and over 3,000 loose recipes, Lori’s recipe collection became
unmanageable. She was unable to find what she needed quickly, and even lost track of some of
her favorites! Not one to let this dilemma keep her from collecting and enjoying her passion,
Lori set about creating a solution. She believes that Recipe Runway was percolating all the
while. Waiting, like that favorite Bellini cupcake recipe she had misplaced in the depths
of a kitchen drawer, for
the perfect moment to debut.
